Beaded saree tassel design - 3

Hello friends,

I have been busy last couple of months with my sister's wedding and traveling. So I haven't posted anything in a while. But now that I am free I would like to share another beautiful beaded saree tassel design. I did this on my saree which I wore to my sister's wedding. Hope you all will like it. Below are the instructions for making this design.

Materials required are:

  • Silk thread(Five strands for the first step and fifty strands for second step)
  • Zari thread
  • Cone shaped bead
  • Round beads
  • Large and small Needles
  • Scissor

The first step is to thread five strands of silk thread through the small needle. Add a cone shaped bead to the needle and pass it through the fabric as shown below.

Now pull the strands through the fabric. Pass the needle back through the same bead. Make sure the strands are long enough to tie a knot and cut off extra thread using scissor.

Add another conical bead as specified above , leaving a gap of one inch from the first bead. Take the strands from both beads and combine them. Now pass a round bead through these combined strands.

Tie a knot below the round bead. Repeat this process for the entire saree pallu. The end result can be seen in the following pictures.

Thread fifty strands of silk thread through larger needle. Pass this needle through the strands between the round bead and the knot below and pull strands to form a tassel.

Make sure the strands are appropriate length for making a tassel and cut off the extra thread.

Tie the strands using zari thread as shown below.

Once completed it gives the saree a very rich and royal look.
